its a great weekend for living history this weekend in Bedford VA. Travel back in time to two vastly different periods, Appomattox Court House is celebrating the 145 anniversary of General Robert E. Lees surrender at Appomattox Court House, or the National D-Day Memorial will have their Prelude to Invasion this weekend also.

Appomattox Court House, just a short drive from Bedford, is the site where our nation reunited and ended the Civil War. This weekend you can walk among the soldiers, see Lee and Grant, and hear lectures. Appomattox Court House

The National D-Day memorial is located in Bedford VA and is something everyone should see. This weekend you can see what an encampment, period vehicles, and military outfits. National D-Day Memorial

Both events are family friendly and have something interesting for everyone.
